Cost of college went up for all students at Holy Names University

Tuition and fees rose 3 percent for 2018-19 at Holy Names University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

California students paid $39,316 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,128 more than the $38,188 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 174 students received grants or scholarships totaling $5.6 million and 159 students took out student loans totaling more than $945,279.

Including all undergraduates (960), 567 students used grants or scholarships totaling $16.2 million, and 477 students took out $5.4 million in federal student loans.
