70 percent of applicants to Holy Names University were admitted for fall 2018

At Holy Names University, 87 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 65 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Oakland enrolled 960 students in fall 2018, including 632 in undergraduate and 328 in graduate programs, data shows. 8.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

82 percent of undergraduates are residents of California, and 4 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (43 percent) and Black or African American (18 percent).

The school admitted 70 percent of the 2,076 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 12 percent enrolled.
